Lexus became the first—and only—automotive partner of the United States Golf Association (USGA) in 2006, and that five-year success story is now set to continue, as the two recently announced a multiyear extension of their partnership.

As result, Lexus will remain the official car of four key USGA championships, which this year will be held as follows:

  • U.S. Open, June 16-19, at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.
  • U.S. Women’s Open, July 7-10, at The Broadmoor Country Club in Colorado Springs, Colo.
  • U.S. Senior Open, July 28-31, at The Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio
  • U.S. Amateur, Aug. 22-28, at Erin Hills in Milwaukee, Wis.

In addition, the automaker will provide the kind of on-site resources that have in the past included:

  • The Lexus Performance Drive Pavilion, showcasing Lexus vehicles and an immersive fan experience with autograph signings, photo opportunities and displays of famous golf artifacts like the wedge Tom Watson used to win a thrilling victory at the 1982 U.S. Open
  • The Lexus Golf Like A Pro Sweepstakes for USGA members, which gives members the chance to play one of the Open courses with a Lexus-sponsored golf pro like Annika Sorenstam, Johnny Miller, Natalie Gulbis and Peter Jacobsen
  • Hundreds of courtesy vehicles for players and officials

Another important facet of the Lexus-USGA partnership: Their significant mutual support of Hook A Kid On Golf. This charitable program helps communities introduce new golfers to the sport by providing equipment, coaching and playing opportunities.

“We are proud to extend our partnership with such a prestigious organization as the USGA. It represents our commitment to this long-standing relationship and to the game of golf,” said David Nordstrom, vice president of marketing, Lexus. “Golf is something that our customers are passionate about, and the USGA shares our philosophy of supporting our customers’ passions.”
