Offering a unique combination of efficiency, luxury and performance—as well as affordability—the all-new Lexus CT 200h will feature an MSRP of just $29,120 when it goes on sale in March of 2011. The fifth hybrid to join the brand’s lineup, the CT 200h delivers the kind of premium, dynamic driving experience that customers have come to expect from Lexus, with the best combined fuel efficiency in its class as an added bonus.

Consider: The CT 200h boasts standard equipment that includes push-button start/stop, touch-sensor exterior front-door handles, a leather steering wheel, an up-level six-speaker audio system with a USB port and integrated satellite radio receiver, Bluetooth compatibility, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control and an eight-airbag supplemental restraint system. Naturally, a full range of options are available as well, led by Lexus’ sixth-generation navigation system. This innovate unit showcases the company’s exclusive Remote Touch controller, which operates like a computer mouse and does away with the need for touch-screen controls. As a result, the navigation screen can be mounted in a more ergonomic location that offers improved sight lines for the driver.

Further adding to the driving excitement in the CT 200h is a unique performance-damping system from Yamaha, which helps minimize body vibrations, deliver a more linear steering feel and enhance ride and handling.

And remember, all those features and amenities come in addition to the car’s cutting-edge hybrid-drive unit. This system offers four separate driving modes, including a driver-selectable EV mode in which the CT 200h emits no emissions at all. There’s also a “Normal” mode for regular driving, a “Sport” mode for higher levels of on-the-road performance and an “Eco” mode for higher levels of at-the-pump performance. The bottom line here: EPA ratings of 43 mpg city/40 mpg highway/42 mpg combined.

“For just $1,000 more than the cost of a non-luxury hybrid, buyers can indulge in a CT 200h with our proven Lexus Hybrid Drive technology,” said Mark Templin, group vice president and general manager, Lexus Division. “Lexus hybrids currently make up 90 percent of all luxury hybrid sales in the U.S., so you can imagine how excited we are to continue our leadership in this market with the CT 200h.”
