The annual Lexus Eco Challenge—held in partnership with Scholastic—recently rewarded student teams from across the country with $500,000 in scholarships and grants for their efforts in helping protect the environment. More than 400 teams competed in the program during the 2011-2012 school year, with eight earning prizes of $15,000 each in local challenges, and two grand-prize winners taking home $30,000 for developing environmental initiatives that could have an impact internationally. While visiting Washington DC Lexus, I spied a vehicle that I had never seen before. It was roped off, so I assumed it was the fabled “supercar” that Lexus had been promoting, but I had thought it was merely a concept car until I saw it live in the wild. What an amazing vehicle! Thankfully, I didn’t have $400k laying around or might have driven home from Washington DC rather than fly.
